Key Ingredients
Ethically sourced, naturally powerful ingredients that deliver real results while caring for your skin and our planet.
Vegetable Glycerin
Our palm-free Glycerin is a natural humectant that acts like a moisture magnet. It draws water from the air and deeper skin layers to the surface, boosting hydration to keep your skin feeling soft and supple.
Candelilla Wax
Candelilla Wax is a plant-based wax sourced from a shrub native to Mexico and Texas. In formulations, it acts as an effective binding agent that helps fuse ingredients together. For skin, it helps lock in moisture and can reduce the appearance of stretch marks and visible signs of aging.
Pure Non-Nano Mineral Pigments
Pure non-nano mineral pigments deliver rich, natural color while keeping your skin safe. These minerals sit on the surface instead of being absorbed, offering vibrant coverage with a gentle, non-toxic finish.
FAQs
1. Is the Mud Cake Mascara waterproof?
No. Waterproof mascaras use synthetic chemicals like silicones and PFAS “forever chemicals” to coat lashes. These can irritate lashes, require harsh removers and persist in the body and environment. We avoid them, choosing a more natural, mindful approach to beauty.
2. Does it smudge?
No, when applied correctly and allowed to dry completely, it won’t smudge. Avoid rubbing your eyes, and for hooded eyes, a light dusting of setting powder helps it stay put all day.
3. What shade should i choose?
For the 3-in-1 Mud Cake Mascara (brows, liner & lashes):
Midnight Black – dark or very dark brows
Espresso Brown – light brown to medium brown brows
Ash Grey – grey hair and brows
Ocean Blue – suitable for all eye colors
Tip: For striking, well-defined brows, choose a shade a few tones darker than your natural color.
4. Is it suitable for sensitive eyes?
Yes! The brush is cleaned and dried after each use, so it stays hygienic and gentle on eyes. Plus, our natural, fragrance-free formula avoids harsh chemicals, making it ideal for sensitive eyes.
5. What is the shelf life - how long will it last?
Once opened use within 6 months. Replace cake every 6 months or sooner. Be sure to store in a cool dry place and keep your palette clean.
6. What is the difference between the Mud Cake Mascara and Brow Balm for use on brows?
The Mud Cake Mascara is a paste that gives a bold, striking look with very strong hold—perfect for well-defined brows that last all day. The Brow Balm is a tinted wax that’s buildable from subtle to bold, offers medium hold, and works for brows ranging from very light to dark brown, making it ideal for a softer, more versatile look.
7. How do i keep my palette clean?
The best way to keep it clean is to wipe down regularly using a cloth and some oil such as olive or jojoba. Do not use water on the wooden palette.
Extra Tips on How to Use it 4 Ways
-
This is where you need to create a really thick paste for bold lashes. Work the wet spoolie into the cake in a circular motion, wetting brush a second time if needed. If the paste is still too loose, it will splash, so continue working it a little more until your paste is a little drier and thicker.
Twist and press your brush against the cake to check the consistency of the paste within the brush. Pick up the paste for more controlled application. Apply gently in layers. Allow each layer to dry for 30 seconds before applying the next layer and building up your look.
-
For brows, a little goes a long way. Create a loose paste and pick up a little bit of product onto your spoolie. Apply gently.
We recommend using the spoolie side and brushing in an upward motion. The brush will assist with mimicking brow hairs for fuller brows. Use the flat side to fill and shape. -
Use the spoolie side of your Double Sided Brush to create a thick paste. Work brush into the product in circular motions using a little pressure. Then apply in layers using the flat side allowing each application to dry before applying the next.
Apply your liner first. rinse and dry brush before moving on to use the spoolie side.
-
When using this product on your hair, only use a little water and pick up a small amount of product onto the brush by brushing the spoolie over the cake gently from right to left. Brush over tied back hair to slick back; through your parting to cover greys or at the hairline to correct or fill in sparse patches.
